Craig A. Foster, P.E.
Craig Foster, the Founder and President of Foster Energy Management, has over 33 years experience as an engineer and manager. His experience spans many areas of facility design, optimization and management including Energy Management Auditing and Implementation, Utility Management, Building Design and Operation, Water Treatment and Waste Water Treatment Plant Design and Operation, and Solar Thermal Installations. Craig has worked for a gas and electric utility, as an engineering consultant, and in facilities management and engineering for a major manufacturer. In addition, he has 15 years experience managing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in an industrial setting. Mr. Foster's depth of experience allows him to take a broad view of projects the company performs. This broad view translates into a practical approach to each project that is sensitive to the business needs of the client. He is dedicated to helping his clients develop their own expertise and independence as appropriate to their particular situation. Success is measured by the development of that independence, not by the number of return engagements.
Accomplishments
Led the Green Factory Activities (utilities and waste management) for a 1.8 million sq. ft. auto assembly plant with emphasis on process savings (pumping, heat recovery, etc.). Led the ISO 14001 Certification for a 1.8 million sq. ft. auto assembly plant. Mechanical Project Leader for construction of a 1.4 million sq. ft. automotive engine plant. Acted as Energy Audit Project Leader for six U.S. military bases in Europe. Developed expertise in the Building Loads and System Thermodynamics (BLAST) modeling program to analyze existing building energy use profiles.
